sQuid is the school’s on-line payment system for both Cashless Catering and School Trips and Offers.

sQuid is regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA);  it is a free service with no charges for payments made using a Debit Card (above £10) or Bank Transfer (any value).   There is a small charge for payments made by Credit Card depending on individual credit card company charges.   A charge of 25p is applied to any payment card transaction of less than £10.   Please refer to www.squidcard.com for full Terms and Conditions.

All students are issued with a 16-digit registration number and a 3-digit security code, which are unique to them.   If you have more than one student at the school they will each have their own unique numbers and you will need to create an account for each student.    You will then need to create a sQuid account and register your unique sQuid registration number.   This process should be done as soon as you receive this information.     DO NOT START THE SQUID REGISTRATION PROCESS UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR UNIQUE 16‑DIGIT REGISTRATION NUMBER AND 3‑DIGIT SECURITY CODE.

It is very important that you update sQuid with any changes to your email address, otherwise you may not be able to make payments.

Each student is issued with their own personal swipe card linked to their cashless catering account.   A balance should be kept on this account to enable purchases to be made in the canteen.   This balance is topped up by parents via sQuid.

For more detailed information on creating and managing your sQuid account, please see this document.

Schoolcomms is the school’s system for sending emails - such as The Wallington Week, our school newsletter, texts and reports to parents.  Schoolcomms is directly linked to our student record system (SIMS) and uses the contact information (such as mobile phone numbers and email addresses) held by the school.

Emails and texts will be delivered directly to a parent/carer’s email and/or text inbox.  However, it is vital that parents and carers keep us informed of any changes to their email and telephone numbers.

Parents/carers can directly reply by email, text or app message – see details regarding the app below.  We would encourage parents and carers to download the app as the school are charged to send text messages whereas if you have the app, the message is free.

If you have either an Apple or Android mobile phone, a new, free, smartphone app for parents is now available for download called ‘School Gateway’ for Apple (iPhone 3GS or later, iPad, iPod Touch) and Android (2.3 / Gingerbread or later) devices. Please could you download this new app to your phone (it’s free) as it will help us improve communication with parents – and save the school money. The set-up process is simple and will take no more than a couple of minutes:

  1. Search for “School Gateway” in the Apple App Store/Google Play or on your phone go to www.schoolgateway.com/apple (Apple) or www.schoolgateway.com/android (Android)
  2. Install the app and if you are asked then say yes to “Allow Push Notifications”
  3. When you launch School Gateway for the first time, please select ‘New User’ and enter the email address and mobile telephone number you have registered with the school
  4. The system will send a PIN code to your phone; please enter this PIN code and the app will be activated for you. As soon as you have got the system set-up, all of the text messages we send you will appear in the app; you will receive notifications/alerts as normal.

Schoolcomms is registered with the data protection act. All information you provide will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation. Your details will only be used for the purpose of school business. You will not receive any SPAM or marketing material.

If you have any problems receiving emails or texts please contact us on sdavies@wallingtongirls.org.uk

Please note: We will endeavour to keep our information about you, including email addresses and mobile numbers, accurate and up to date.  However, the responsibility is yours to inform us of any changes to this information (or any errors that you become aware of) and any changes that affect parental responsibilities.
