Wallington High School for Girls is a Foundation Selective All-Girls School, set in beautiful grounds just south of the town of Wallington, which is in the London Borough of Sutton, in the county of Surrey.
The school was established in 1888, by a group of far-sighted clergymen and local residents, and has developed, through the grammar school tradition, to become one of the Top 50 All-Girls Schools in the country.
The main school site has changed several times. From a very basic building for twenty-five girls, we now have a purpose-built school which caters for around twelve-hundred students. The school is heavily over-subscribed, drawing its students from the London Borough of Sutton and adjoining Boroughs.
We have recently completed a building programme which included new Humanities, Technology, Mathematics, Music and Key Stage 5 blocks, to accommodate this flourishing and rapidly expanding population.
To equip students with all the skills they will need to deal with a challenging future, we provide a technological and an aesthetic environment where learning can be a pleasure. In so doing, we have gained recognition with the awards shown below. |
