Year 11 Food Practical Exam - Amazing dishes
The Year 11 Food students worked extremely hard to produce some very inspiring products for their GCSE practical exam. I was immensely proud of what they achieved, and they all completed very skilful dishes which were presented to a very high standard, despite having many Covid interruptions throughout their two-year course they have all progressed extremely well.
Students were able to choose from two design brief’s set by the Exam board. The most popular brief was to produce Italian dishes. Many students made and flavoured their own pasta, bread, ice cream etc with every component was made from scratch. The results were delicious!
The second design brief was to produce healthy dishes for primary school children. The emphasis on this brief was to reduce the amount of sugar, salt and fat in foods and encourage children to eat a wider variety of fruits and vegetables. Again, a wide array of colourful and appetising dishes were created.
Congratulations Year 11 Food students for being so impressive in your practical exams.
