Enrichment Programme: Enrichment Days

Wallington High School for Girls runs a program that means students have a dedicated enrichment day every term and over 3 days at the end of the summer term. Students do not follow the timetable for those days and are given a variety of opportunities to undertake more immersive learning linked to their curriculum along side opportunities to develop personal skills and try something new.

The proposed dates for the 2020/21 academic year are:

6th November 2020 – postponed due to Corona virus
11th March 2021
12-14th July 2021

In previous years, students have been given the options of visits to outdoor centres, visits to the theatre, poetry writing at London Zoo, a forensic science day, geography field trips, visits to specialist Art galleries including Saatchi for the Tutankhamun Exhibition and a Macbeth workshop at the Globe Theatre. We have also undertaken activities on site such as sports events, escape rooms and project catwalks.

Understandably plans for the days within the 2020/21 calendar will be different due to the coronavirus restrictions, but they will still be driven with the ethos of developing students’ skills and learning; providing additional opportunities for students outside of the classroom. As an example of the full range usually available, we have provided the enrichment schedule for 2018/19.
