Year 7 Sept 2025 entry
Applications for year 7 entry in September 2025 will start earlier than most school, as we are a selective Grammar School. Parents/carers will need to register their child to sit the Selective Eligibility Test (SET) via our website below. Applicants should be registered for this when they are in the summer term of Year 5.
The registration for the SET exam for 2025 entry will open usually on the 1st May 2024. A link will be provided on our website at this time.
The registration system will close on early August. After this date you will not be able to register your child to take the Selective Eligibility Test and as such would not be eligible to join WHSG in Year 7 in September 2025.
The Selective Eligibility Test for 2025 entry will take place on early September 2024. Candidates who successfully pass the SET will be invited back to sit the Nonsuch and Wallington Second Stage Entrance Examination (NWSSEE) in late September/early October.
The SET comprises two multiple choice tests: a Mathematics test and an English test. Those students who achieve at least the minimum qualifying threshold in the SET will be invited back to sit the NWSSEE, which comprises two tests: one in Mathematics and one in English, neither of which is multiple choice.
We will provide more information on the style of the exam and content and sample questions nearer the time.
Our entrance test is broadly based on the KS2 curriculum and we do not consider it to be necessary for children to be tutored in order to gain access to the entrance test. We never allow 11+ tutoring companies in our schools.
Students that have successfully passed the entrance exam (SET and NWSSEE) will be eligible to select Wallington High School for Girls as one of their preferred secondary schools on the Common Application form (CAF). The deadline to submit this application form is the 31st October 2024
The Open Day for 2024 is scheduled for 4th July 2024. More information will be published closer to this event.
