The 16-19 tuition fund
For the 2022-23 academic year WHSG will receive money from the 16-19 tuition fund. This is provided from the government. This is provided to all schools to help alleviate any issues that have arisen from the COVID-19 pandemic, in terms of students falling behind with the curriculum in the 2019-2020 academic year.
Funds can be allocated to any students but particular attention is given to;
- SEND Students
- Students with low prior attainment
- Disadvantaged Students
Money is available to all departments and they have been asked to bid for the use of funds, with all allocation for catch up purposes being authorised by a member of SLT.
Money will be spent on
- Targeted tutoring in small groups or 1 to 1.
All provision will be targeted and funds will only be released when the budget holder is happy with the justification. The impact will be monitored by analysing internal and external assessment measures as well as other judgements made by departments. This will be reported upon at the end of the process.
Clearly, the situation is constantly changing and therefore the allocation of funds will be monitored and amended accordingly.
